Master of Counselling Student Intern
I have always been drawn to people, their stories, and those in distress. My interest in psychology began in adolescence as I went through my own mental health challenges. This interest flourished as I experienced first-hand the powerful positive effects of help and support. I am passionate about supporting individuals through their difficulties and helping them to meet their goals and live rich and meaningful lives.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, considering what best meets each client's needs. I primarily draw upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My care is trauma-informed (involving safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment) and embraces the client-centred principles of empathy, genuineness, and acceptance. I appreciate the courage it can take to share one's story and consider it a great honour to share in that journey.
When I am not with clients or studying, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four children and doing anything active or outdoors.
