Jennifer's Story

REGISTERED PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

I have over a decade of experience working with children with a wide range of neurodiversity, mental health, and behavioural needs. My experience has taught me the importance of a systemic approach involving families and the broader community. My own experience as a mother has further amplified my understanding of the importance of families. I believe that supporting parents and families is integral in supporting children. My other passion has been working with Newcomers to Canada, with an emphasis on trauma informed care, cultural humility, and (again!) a holistic, systemic approach to therapy. I believe that when individuals and families are given the space and support they need, they are capable of immense positive change.I am proud to support individuals who have experienced, or are experiencing, anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, interpersonal violence, and difficulty with parenting and family relationships. I work with individuals from all religious, ethnic, cultural backgrounds as well as people from across the gender and sexuality spectrum. My career is centred on dignity and respect for my clients, and I approach each client with a deep appreciation for their unique perspectives and abilities.
