Erica's Story

Registered Psychologist

My psychology journey started when I was 14 years old and experiencing my own mental health issues. Since then, I’ve participated in therapy throughout my life, which has helped me change, grow, and better understand myself.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective, meaning that together we focus on building safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment. My clients often describe my style as soft and gentle. My approach is non-pathologizing, non-judgmental, and deeply caring and empathetic. I believe that change happens through the therapeutic relationship, through gaining insight into our patterns and life stories, and through learning new ways of coping with difficult life experiences. In our sessions, you can expect that we will work as a team to explore what brings you to therapy and what your goals are, to set the conditions for you to feel heard, validated, understood, and to set the conditions for change to happen.

As an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, I commit to being informed, well-trained, and to provide non-judgmental, affirmative services. I understand that the concerns that bring you to therapy might not specifically be related to sexuality and/or gender, and as we explore these concerns, I commit to welcoming and affirming your identity and experiences.

It is my greatest honour to walk alongside you in this journey of exploration and healing.
