Donna's Story
Registered Clinical Social Worker, RCSW
My journey to becoming a therapist began in my career in medical laboratory sciences. I noted the impact that life events had on the whole family. It struck me that those with supports and healthy family relationships fared significantly better. This inspired my journey to learn, explore and appreciate attachment theory and human development. Individuals are created in a context. We all need others to facilitate our understanding of our context.
Working in day programs, schools, public agencies and in private practice facilitated my experience to work with diverse populations. I have a special interest in helping individuals with mental health and trauma. I embrace the idea that no one should struggle alone. My training in Gottman Couples Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy has afforded opportunity to work with couples. I draw from many therapies and of course am most grateful for the training and experience my clients have given me over the years.
