Ashley's Story
Master of Counselling Student Intern
With a long-standing passion for supporting people, my start in this work comes from more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. Through the years, I learned how to interact with various individuals in a very unsuspecting and organic way. It didn’t take long to identify that my favorite part of this work was the opportunity to meet, connect with, and support others. In light of this realization, I am excited to transition to this new career path.
First and foremost, I focus on building a genuine connection built on pillars of trust, acceptance, and authenticity. I also strive to highlight strengths and resilience while navigating challenges with those I support and allowing you to be the expert of your experience. As I have made sense of my own life, and the lives of those close to me and applied psychological principles to this work, I favor an Attachment and Trauma-Informed approach and evidence-based practices.
Beyond studying and working, I enjoy cooking and trying new food, exploring the world through travel, and spending time outside hiking and camping often in the mountains.
